The Girly Go-To

I wouldn't call it a staple, but I do wear ruffled blouses pretty frequently. I like the way they frame the face, feel feminine and polished and can so easily be dressed up and down.

I love the way Nicole Richie toughened up her girly top with a leather jacket and black skinny jeans.  This is usually how I end up wearing mine -- though with a blazer or a simple cardigan instead of the leather jacket. When wearing something overtly feminine, I always feel a little chicer and cooler if I mix it (and tone it down) with something masculine. It's about combining extremes -- soft/structured, sweet/sexy, etc...
